Make sure you know exactly what you're doing with site submissions

Social signals like those from Twitter and Facebook are increasingly valuable, despite being no follow. The key is to build your brand – don’t think of what links are good for SEO, but instead think what links are good for your business, your brand, and what links can help establish you as an industry authority. Remember that links, no follow or not, build trust. Is itfun?  One factor is the proliferation of devices people use to access information, which has inspired new ways for users to input queries, like voice activated searches including Siri, Sherpa, Cortana and Google Now (1). The ‘no-follow’ breaks the connection you are trying to make between one website and the next, defeating the purpose of a link from the perspective of Google optimization (people can of course still click the link and visit your site directly). They’ve been adding social signals to their algorithm, which means they look at a page’s Facebook and Twitter traffic, comments, sentiment, and other social data.

Headings and forums

Yes, I said six months. When you incorporate real SEO into your website, you’ve made a conscious decision to plant a seed, nurture that seed, and help it grow over time. This long-term strategy and efforts produce high-quality results that continue to produce results year and year. Link building happens when you manage to get more links to your website from other sites than your competition. In other words if the spiders and crawlers see that there is a link to your website in 500 blogs it will increase your credibility compared to a website that only has 10 links linking to it. Just like they have for on-page SEO, technical aspects of SEO have changed as search engines have become more sophisticated. Keywords and link building are no longer as impactful as they once were; now, it’s all about creating valuable content. Google and other search engines are switching gears to focus on the relevance of the information you provide on your site. The “bots” that determine your site’s search engine ranking are crawling the web in search of sites that are conversational and have valuable content. (Not to creep you out, but Google’s system is critiquing your site like an extremely intelligent superhuman would.)

Types of site changes brought on by long tail search

“link” is when another website talks about yours and “links” to you as attribution. If there was one thing that we could get across to those unfamiliar with SEO, it’s that it takes time. You should expect at a minimum a few months to 6 months before you see any noticeable results. That length of time grows even longer if you have a new site, little authority, and a small amount of content. True to form, Google is always changing, tweaking, and improving its algorithm. Keyword research can be done using free tools. I believe the algorithm understands how to sift through the crap and understand at the core level what the top sites are – I then believe your site is measured against this. So, how’s this affect you? What kind of word-count should you shoot for with your web pages and blog posts? Is Google going to downgrade your valuable content? Don’t panic: as long as you’re not doing anything sketchy, you should be fine.

Don't miss out RSS feeds from your detailed marketing checklist

According to SEO Consultant, Gaz Hall: "If you’re like most website owners, at one time or another, you’ve asked if your website really needs SEO. It’s a fair question, but one I can quickly dismiss." Do your maths - its one of the primary resources for this sort of thing. Its as simple as KS2 Maths. Really! You want a user to click your result in Google, and not need to go back to Google to do the same search that ends with the user pogo-sticking to another result, apparently unsatisfied with your page. This isn’t really a common problem, but it has damaged quite a few businesses over the years; particularly those that are new to digital marketing. Through organic search, you can reach potential customers at the very moment they are considering a purchase and provide them information exactly when they are looking for it. Every SEO strategy focusing on making the best website possible, will make a website more usable and user-friendly.

Make sure you know exactly what you're doing with site submissions

The Internet is a complex place that houses billions of websites, documents, apps, you name it, and search engines help link all the information together like a giant spider web – everything’s connected! Forcing someone with a screen reader to listen to your keyword heavy ALT text sounds annoying - they don't end up any better informed. There’s alwayssomething written somewhere that you can quote and use. You could also link back to the original article for some sweet SEO gains and to form a relationship with the website or person that is the source of the quote. The anchor text you use for a link should provide at least a basic idea of what the page linked to is about. However, it’s expensive – we’ll be discussing influencer marketing in detail later in this book.

Make plugins the main focus of your marketing tactics

With SEO, you could write a number of blogs that support your product page, with keywords and hyperlinks.  page consisting of just a few sentences is less likely to get to the top of a search engine list. Search engines favor sites that have a high information content. Generally, you should try to increase the text content of your site in the interest of seo. The optimum page size is 500-3000 words (or 2000 to 20,000 characters). A Meta Description tag should be a well written, straightforward sentence that contains your keywords and the major feature/function/benefit of your business and the page that’s being featured. There are several types of links you should avoid having in your backlinks profile. The worst you can have are the spammy ones you can’t control. In most cases, SEO specialists don’t use 302 redirects when fixing the on-site qualities of a website. Instead, a 302 redirect is often used when they want to test a new page for client feedback but they don’t want to damage or change the old page’s rankings and history.
